By Newsroom | About a month ago, Hamas militants stunned Israel and the world, with a daring surprise attack on the Jewish state - which know one knew, was coming.
Israel's communications minister on Friday said - four journalists, working with western news outlets - did know about it.
Minister Shlomo Karhi said, that freelancers working with Reuters, AP, CNN, and the New York Times, were aware of the Hamas raids.
All the four news organizations have dismissed the allegation and said - there was no arrangement in advance with journalists. The New York Times described the accusations as untrue and outrageous.
Israeli accusations appear to be based on the belief, that journalists and photographers were positioned at the scene of the attack, to provide images of the raids.
Former Israeli defense minister Benny Gantz has said those who knew about - what he called - terrorist attacks - should be treated like terrorists.
A lawmaker from the governing Likud Party - Danny Dannon said - the journalists would be added to the list of people - marked for assassination.
The Committee to Protect Journalists, says at least 39 journalists and media workers have been killed, since the war began, including 34 Palestinians, four Israelis and one Lebanese.
