Several countries including India have advised their citizens in Israel, Lebanon and Iran to maintain a state of high alert as the risk of a full-scale conflict appears to be imminent.
The alert follows after Iran threatened direct military strikes on Israel.
According to reports Air India has cancelled all flights to and from Israel.
This week the political leader of the Palestinian group Hamas was killed in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was blamed on Israel, but Tel Aviv has not commented so far.
According to Israel, just days earlier key military planner of the group Mohammad Deif was also killed in a military operation in Gaza.
The Israeli military also said it eliminated an important figure in Hezbollah, which is based in Israel and opposed to Israel.
The two killings have raised military tension between Israel and Iran, which backs - both Hamas and Hezbollah.
